Your scores

Add websites and files to your library, then keep each song with its takes.

A score is anything you play from

A score can be a saved web page, a PDF, a Guitar Pro file, or a MusicXML file. Each keeps the takes you record with it. Websites use their own player; imported scores use Afinar’s playback and reading controls.

The home

The library holds your bookmarks, recent scores, and full collection.

• ·Search (⌘F) matches your whole collection, and doubles as the way to find new songs.
• ·My bookmarks are the tab sites you actually use; they appear on their own as you play. Right-click to pin, rename, or remove; Bookmark this site in the browser toolbar pins the site you’re on.
• ·My scores is the full grid: sort by recently played, recently added, or A–Z; filter by type or source. Each card shows what kind of score it is and how many takes it holds, click the takes count to drill into them.

Right-click a card to rename or delete a score. Deleting a score deletes its takes, and the dialog says so. Mark a song Nailed when you land it: right-click the card, or use the SONG control in listen back.

Press L to return to your library from a score.

Web scores

Open a tab or lesson website inside Afinar. The site’s account and subscription requirements still apply. Add to Afinar saves the page to your library and keeps your takes with it. If you click through to a different song later, the header offers to add or switch, so takes always land under the page you’re actually playing.

Finding songs

Type into the home search. A web address opens as itself; a site’s name opens the site; anything else is a song title, pick where to look from the row of sites that appears: tab sites, sheet music sites, or YouTube.

PDFs

Drag a PDF into Afinar or press ⌘O. Afinar keeps a copy in its library. See Practice tools for PDF display modes. Drop a PDF and an audio file together to attach the recording as you import.

Guitar Pro and MusicXML files

Import .gp, .gpx, .gp3, .gp4, or .gp5 files, or a MusicXML score (.musicxml or .mxl). Use the file picker for .xml. Choose your instrument part to read it as a continuous chart. Attach audio for score following; charts do not arrive synchronized to a song by themselves.
