The recording

Attach music to an imported score so you can read and play along in the same window.

Add the song

Open a PDF, Guitar Pro, or MusicXML score and choose Add track in the bottom bar. Select an audio file or paste a YouTube link. Each score has one attached recording; use its menu to replace it.

An attached YouTube video plays beside the score. To use synchronized chart following or instrument separation, first choose Get the audio from this video. Afinar plays it through at normal speed and captures the audio; allow the length of the song.

Play along

Use Space to play or pause attached music, move the playhead to another point, and adjust its volume against your instrument.

• ·Speed. Choose 50%, 75%, 100%, 125%, or 150% playback speed without changing the pitch.
• ·Loop. Choose the section you want to repeat with the loop controls. The loop clears when you leave the score.

Record with the music

Press Record and play with the attached music. If you use a count-in, set it in the recording section. Stop the take yourself. A take made at a slower playback speed keeps what you heard at that speed.

Web tabs are their own players

Songsterr, Ultimate Guitar, and other web pages keep their own playback, speed, and loop controls. Afinar’s controls described here apply to music attached to imported scores.
