Guitar Pro 8 for Mac and Windows lets you write, edit, and practice notation and tabs. Afinar opens compatible files and brings them together with your music, instrument tone, and practice takes on Mac.
What Guitar Pro brings to practice.
Write and edit music. Create tabs, notation, and arrangements in Guitar Pro. Afinar reads supported files but does not include a notation editor.
Play through effects. Guitar Pro 8’s Line-In feature can process your live guitar through the track’s effects. Read the Line-In guide.
Practice with recorded audio. Guitar Pro 8 can import an audio track and align it with a score using sync points you place by hand. It also offers looping and speed tools. Read the audio-track guide.

Bring the chart and its recording. Import a supported Guitar Pro file and add the recording. Afinar tries to sync the two; teach it the timing when needed.
Choose your practice tone. Play through Afinar’s amps and effects. With ToneSwap, try a different sound on a saved take.
Keep your takes with the song. Record yourself playing, listen back with Tone Off, and star your favorites.
Bring your other sources. Keep PDFs, MusicXML charts, and links to tab and lesson sites in the same library.
