Learn how to find your practice files, what needs an internet connection, and how to report a security issue. Data handling is described on the privacy page.
Open Settings and choose Reveal in Finder to locate your practice files. Keep a backup of the scores and takes you want to retain.
For information about purchases, licenses, and data handling, read the privacy page.
When something goes wrong and you use Help → Send Feedback, it prepares a message with your app version, your macOS version, and a log if one exists. You can see all of it and remove any of it, and nothing sends until you press Send.
Imported files and installed sounds can be used offline. Websites and online services need a connection.
| Browsing | Tab sites, lessons, and YouTube need internet access. Their accounts and subscriptions are separate from Afinar. |
| Updates | Afinar checks for available updates. Follow the updater’s prompts to install one. |
| Website support chat | Online support features require a connection. For data-handling information, read the privacy page. |
| Purchases and licenses | See the privacy page for information about purchase and license data. |
| Website analytics | Website analytics are described on the privacy page. |
| Instrument separation | First use requires an initial download. Once installed, separation can process local audio offline. |
You can continue practicing with files and sounds that are already available on your Mac.
An update-service outage can delay updates. A website outage can prevent its pages from loading. If a download needed for instrument separation fails, try again later. For help, email support@afinar.app.
Afinar is distributed directly as a notarized Mac app. The updater verifies signed updates before installing them.
Report a possible security issue to security@afinar.app. Include what you found and how to reproduce it.
