Practice tools and shortcuts
Tools for tuning, keeping time, reading a score, and repeating a passage.
Tuner
Press T or open the tuner from the toolbar. Choose guitar, bass, or chromatic mode and play a note to tune.
Metronome
M. Set the tempo, time signature, and subdivisions. The click continues when you close its controls. Afinar does not add it to your take.
Slow down and loop
Slow attached music without changing its pitch, or loop a section for another pass. These controls apply to imported scores. See The recording.
Drill a passage
Drill repeats a few bars until they’re under your fingers. It works on a Guitar Pro or MusicXML score that’s synced to its recording.
Drag across the bars you want and press Drill. The first press loops them at 75% speed, the second plays them at full speed, and the third ends the drill and puts the speed back where it was. With no bars selected, Drill uses the loop you’ve set, or the bar you’re on.
While the music plays, dragging across bars drills them straight away. Press D to drill from the keyboard.
Reading modes
PDFs have four reading modes: Fit page, Fit width, Two pages, and Half pages. Margin trimming is optional. Guitar Pro and MusicXML charts use a continuous sheet.
Page turns
Use the arrow keys, Page Up / Page Down, or a compatible page-turn pedal.
Keyboard shortcuts
Common shortcuts are listed below and in the Practice menu.

Shortcuts are disabled while you type in a text field. On a web page, Space uses the site’s own playback control.
